I have always loved painting and drawing. Having been convinced at school that languages would be of more use than art, it wasn’t until the early 80’s when I moved to Aberdeen that I took up painting again.
Over the years I have attended various courses and worked in all kinds of media. I now paint mainly in watercolour and am influenced by the earthy colours of the Lake District. I love to paint landscapes but also enjoy portraits and natural subjects. Recently I have tried to branch out to a more abstract approach having attended some inspiring workshops, especially those of local artist Kate Bentley.
